Trailer Watch
I’ve wanted to do this for a long time. Commentary on the trailers I encounter during theatrical showings. So these came before Munich (a film I have nothing particular to say about other than its decent but not mindblowing and KZA what is with that 87 I mean really.)
- American Dreamz - On paper this is the exact type of thing I should totally fucking despise, and it still might be, but there was some intangible quality to this trailer that made me think “Oh my god this might actually be OK.” Paul Weitz is not totally untalented, but dear god this is really going to have to knock it out of the park to be tolerable.
- Mission Impossible 3 - I never saw I and hated II with a passion, but this has some promise to be a fun popcorn blockbuster. Is Phillip Seymour Hoffman ever not worth watching?
- Freedomland - From the man who brought you such masterpieces as Christmas With The Kranks, Revenge Of The Nerds II and American Sweethearts comes a boring overwrought action thriller starring two premium actors who should really know better. Could be OK but I don’t see myself finding out.
