Last.fm
As anyone who reads this blog outside of an RSS feeds has probably noticed, there is a new little graphic over on the right representing my most played bands for the last week. This comes courtesy of last.fm, a new music-based social networking site which tracks the music you play. You have to download and install a plugin for your music player, and you’re off! Yeah, the whole “I’m sending my musical preferences to this company that is undoubtedly using them for evil marketing purposes” angle is kind of weird, but the site is a lot of fun and its not like I’m listening to much of anything the major players care about anyways. You can setup groups for people to join, and the site generates charts of all the conglomerated tastes of the members. I am thinking of starting a Cineblog group. Any takers?
Also, Sigur Ros finally scheduled a Seattle date on their ‘06 tour and I am so fucking stoked.

Since they have an iTunes plugin, I’m seriously considering this — but if you’re like Martin (who can see what I’m listening to via iChat), you may turn white at some of the stuff I listen to.

I’m into people with really eclectic tastes. I’m pretty much a one-trick pony and I wish I had a little more variety in my listening habits. You should plug that thing in, its hella fun.
