I was pretty psyched when I ran into that show, although I wasn't familiar with the hosts (am now!). Any two critics that can have Mission of Burma on one week, and do a retrospective of Songs in the Key of Life a few weeks later have my vote. The show is just infused with their obvious love of all music, and a total lack of the cynical snobbery that sometimes passes in these days. Thanks for checking out my list!

Wow -- Jim Derogatis was in The Ex-Lion Tamers? I knew who he was, knew who they were, but didn't know there was a connection.

Probably goes without saying that Ennio Morricone deserves mention.

Brion's quirky multi-instrumental style was a great match to Eternal Sunshine's mental landscapes. They're kind of aloof and experimental but also seem to have a solid classics grounding which kind of lends more maturity to the feel of the movie. Gondry seems to have impeccable music taste.
