I hear that.  I hate to say it, but, the best place I find to read is really in the toilet.  I generally don't bring the laptop in with me (unless I'm reading an ebook) so I can focus on reading a short chapter/section.  The only downside is you need to read authors who either write short chapters or put frequent white space in the middle of a chapter to signify a scene change.

(another downside is if you have an exceptionally tall or short toilet.  My one at home is about 2 inches too tall...)</description>
